How I Got Here
Already dragging and rearranging furniture in her childhood home in Massachusetts at 15 years old, Stacey has design in her DNA. Her eye for detail and ability to play with colour and materials blossomed while working in the fashion industry in the 1980s, a decade where luminary fashion brands like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein were expanding collections into the home and transforming into lifestyle brands. By day she worked in fashion gaining tried-and-true tricks of the trade, and on weekends, she meandered through New York's slew of flea markets scouring for interior inspiration.
After marriage, she moved abroad to Zurich, Switzerland, and became enticed by the modern Swiss aesthetic, learning how to mix old with contemporary to create an eclectic space. Seven years later, living in London, Stacey developed her love for decorative furniture and art, and how to use antiques and odds and ends to transform a house into a home.
Stacey, a self-taught designer who's life experiences have imbued her design sensibility, is also trained in technical skills such as colour theory, Sketch-up, CAD Lite, and home staging and construction management. She believes design is all about collaboration with her clients, who are design partners in her method. By learning how her client's live and work, what they like and dislike, as well as their budget and building constraints, together they transform a space into one that is as functional as it is beautiful.
